Session Objectives:
- Explain the difference between cumulative incidence, incidence rate, and prevalence
- Explain the difference between relative risk, odds ratio, and hazard ratio
- Calculate the number needed to treat and the number needed to harm
- List the essential elements of an abstract
- Recognize and apply succinct writing to an abstract
Pre-Session Assignment:
- Review Session 7 Statistical Interpretation and complete the questions at the end.
- Write an abstract for your own research project formatted to the appropriate Residency Conference you will be attending.
- Email a draft of your abstract to your small group leader by Feb. 4, 2019.
- Required reading: VIGOR trial and VIGOR follow up
