Session Objectives:
- Assess the advantages and disadvantages of various study designs
- Choose an appropriate design for particular research questions
- Differentiate between internal and external validity and generalizability
- Identify the selection criteria for a study population
- Identify potential issues with bias and confounding related to design and population

- Study design and setting
- Study population
- Inclusion and exclusion criteria
